What We Do

We develop and build novel bioreactors that allow our customers to capture more value from their processes.  Using novel technologies originally developed at Arizona State University, Precient is developing bioreactors for a variety of applications, including wastewater treatment and precious metal harvesting.

Who We Are

Bradley Lusk
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Bradley Lusk  has a PhD in Biological Design and specializes in Environmental Biotechnology research and development. He has spent over 7 years developing and promoting biotechnologies for water treatment and resource capture.
Bruce Rittmann
Chief Science Officer

Dr. Bruce Rittmann has a PhD in environmental engineering and is the director of the Biodesign Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology at Arizona State University. He is an international leader in research and development about technologies that utilize microorganisms to provide societal services, such as cleaning up pollution and generating renewable resources. He is the inventor of the MBfR, is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the International Water Association and the National Academy of Inventors.
Chen Zhou
Chief Research Officer

Dr. Chen Zhou has a PhD in environmental engineering and is an assistant research scientist in the Biodesign Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology at Arizona State University. His research focuses on investigating interactions between microbes and metals, and their applications in water treatment and resource recovery. He is a primary inventor for the patent Methods of Recovering Platinum Group Metals from Waste Streams (PCT/US2017/016179). As the CRO, Dr. Zhou is Responsible for detailed implementation of Research and Development (R&D) strategic programs. 
Lance Thompson
Chief Financial Officer

Lance has over 30 years of experience as a Management Consultant and Corporate Controller in the private and public sectors. This was primarily with Deloitte & Touche, his own consulting firm, and a medical device manufacturer. He provides consulting services in the areas of business planning, all functional business areas, organizational effectiveness, and implementation assistance.

His most recent experience is with all aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation, focusing on business feasibility, business planning, product/service innovation, technology commercialization, marketing programs, financial projections and implementation roadmaps for the major business initiatives. He has expertise with startup and early growth companies in all areas of the business model, using both lean startup and modern management best business practices – and across most industries.
Calvin Ray Jr
Operations and Customer Support

Calvin Ray Jr., the Operations Manager, is a 20-year Army veteran that brings extensive training and experience in leadership, personnel training, personnel management, and operations.  He spent his first career participating in the successful testing and evaluation, integration, and technical writing in support of two Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) platforms that has been approved and used in the Army during both Iraqi Freedom operations in Iraq and Enduring Freedom operations in Afghanistan.  Calvin also was in a mid-level command operations cell as a Safety and Security manager and Operations Clerk, as well as in upper-level command as a personnel training manager and Operations Assistant.  He is currently finishing a double BS degree in Technological Entrepreneurship and Management and in Operations Management.
